Last Saturday morning, an incident of gun violence shook the usually quiet streets of Bethesda, Maryland. According to WUSA9, Montgomery County Police were dispatched to the 5300 block of Westbard Avenue following reports of gunfire at approximately 12:13 a.m.
Arriving at the scene, officers discovered two individuals who had sustained minor injuries due to the shooting, as well as several shell casings scattered across the ground. Expressed by a shaken nearby resident, the sound of 8 to 12 gunshots roused them from sleep, as stated in a WUSA9 interview. While one victim was treated at the scene, the other was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries described as "non-life-threatening."
As reported by FOX 5 DC, the incident occurred near Bowlero, a popular local bowling alley. This shooting has intensified concerns about crime in the area, and yet no suspects have been apprehended.
