A Commerce Bank in the Lindenwood Park area became the scene of a heist yesterday morning, when an unidentified male suspect executed a robbery just after 10 AM. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department swiftly swooped into action, with officers and detectives from District Two converging on the bank located at the 6300 block of Chippewa, following the alarm for a hold-up. SLMPD reported on the incident shortly after, providing initial details about the crime.
According to the SLMPD statements, the suspect, described as a thin male with short hair, went into the bank donning a grey jacket, and jeans, he was also carrying a black backpack. The man then proceeded to demand all of the money from a bank teller by handing over a note. In response, the teller complied with his demands and handed the suspect an undisclosed sum of money. The suspect then vacated the premises, last seen heading east on Chippewa.
The police have not yet named a suspect and are currently investigating the robbery. They are urging anyone with information about the crime to come forward and assist in their ongoing inquiries. As of now, no injuries have been reported in connection with the robbery, and further details about the amount stolen have been withheld.
