Last night in Brooklyn Park, what was likely another day of routine tasks for an AutoZone employee became anything but ordinary when gunshots shattered the evening air. According to the Brooklyn Park Police Department Alert, the incident unfolded at around 9:06 P.M. when an individual, whose aim mercifully did not find its target, discharged a firearm multiple times in the direction of the employee who was simply taking out the trash at the 7700 block of Brooklyn Blvd.
The police, upon arrival, were quick to set up the exterior perimeter, a standard procedure designed to contain any potential threat and protect the public. Neither the employee nor bystanders were injured in the shooting. The department's drone, alongside the assistance from Minnesota State Patrol, scoured the skies, while the ground was combed by the Brooklyn Park K-9 unit in an effort to locate the individual responsible for the violence, as reported by the Brooklyn Park Police Department.
Officers recover spent shell casings at the scene. The Brooklyn Park Police Department continues its investigation into the shooting.
