Utah State University's own Kyla Dahle, a double major in psychology and English, is broadening her horizons and honing her Spanish language skills thanks to a stint abroad. Dahle, specializing in creative writing, immersed herself in Spanish as a Foreign Language Teaching and Learning Course (CLCE) at the University of La Rioja, Spain. Her time spent during the fall semester was supported by a foundation scholarship paired with USU Study Abroad, a program dedicated to giving students a taste of international education

Heading to Spain wasn't just an opportunity to travel, it was a deep dive into a different culture, language, and system of education. Dahle's commitment did not go unnoticed, “Kyla’s dedication and commitment to the program were exemplary," noted Margaret Stanny, Study Abroad advisor, as obtained by USU Today. It's clear the program did more than just expand linguistic proficiency, it shaped her cultural understanding and possibly, her future aspirations.

The backing didn't stop with financial assistance, the University of La Rioja’s Transformation Plan Delegation threw their support behind Dahle through her academic journey. Recognizing her efforts and potential, university officials have called upon her to maintain ties with their academic community. Such invitations speak volumes of the bridges being built between USU and institutions around the globe, bridges that carry student potential to international opportunities.
