The Vacaville Community Response Unit (CRU) has recently enforced action on an illegal encampment, leading to the arrest of a man with felony warrants. The CRU, which focuses on addressing local community challenges such as illegal encampments, engaged with an encampment between Vine St. and Markham Ave. following neighborhood complaints, as detailed in a social media post by the Vacaville Police Department.
During the operation, officers encountered several individuals living in tents equipped with bedding and littered with discarded bike frames and narcotics paraphernalia. A pursuit ensued as Dylan Wright, a 33-year-old Vacaville resident, sought refuge by fleeing on foot. He was wanted for a parole violation felony warrant. Having hesitated to comply initially, Wright was safely detained, hiding behind a dumpster on Markham Ave. The events led to the discovery of an additional felony warrant for Wright about domestic violence. Arrested alongside Wright, all individuals present faced various misdemeanor charges tied to trespassing and illegal lodging.
"Despite these incidents, CRU continues to make a positive impact," noted the Vacaville Police Department in their online statement.
