An 18-year-old man was shot and robbed in Bevo Mill. The incident, which occurred in the 5200 block of Morganford, was first investigated following the victim's admission to a local hospital yesterday, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The victim explained to the authorities that on Sunday, shortly before 11:30 a.m., he was walking when a group of four unknown males, who had emerged from a black sedan, confronted him. The young man recounted how the assailants pointed their guns at him to forcibly take his money, work clothes, and ID. He attempted to quickly run away after the robbery took place.
According to the victim's account, one assailant fired a shot while he fled, the bullet ricocheting off the ground and striking him in the leg. Instead of seeking immediate medical attention, the 18-year-old said he went home and tried to "sleep off" the gun shot wound. It was only when his condition failed to improve that he contacted a friend the following day to take him to the hospital for treatment.
The St. Louis Police are actively pursuing the investigation to find the individuals responsible for the attack. They urge anyone with information related to the incident to step forward.
