
An early morning incident in Mountain View has resulted in the tragic death of a 73-year-old pedestrian. According to the City of Mountain View, the collision occurred at El Camino Real and Escuela Avenue intersection and was reported today at approximately 5:28 a.m.
When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they found the male victim, who was a resident of the city, fatally injured. Despite efforts from the Mountain View Police officers and the City of Mountain View Fire Department personnel, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim's identity has yet to be released as officials notify next of kin.
The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and actively cooperated with the ongoing investigation. Authorities have stated that neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to have been a contributing factor in the accident.
Mountain View Police Department's Traffic team is still on the scene, meticulously processing the area to identify the cause of the fatal collision.
