In a move to uphold the justice system's integrity and press for adherence to a Supreme Court ruling, Arizona congresswoman Yassamin Ansari, alongside fellow Democrats, landed in El Salvador with the aim of ensuring the return of a mistakenly deported man back to United States soil. The delegation, which included Rep. Robert Garcia, Rep. Maxwell Frost, and Rep. Maxine Dexter, is advocating for the Trump Administration to comply with the order that demands the facilitation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia's release.

Ansari, a first-term congresswoman, emphasized the critical nature of Abrego Garcia's situation: "Trump has already threatened to illegally deport ‘home-growns’ and American citizens," in a statement obtained by 12 News. She further stressed, "If this can happen to Mr. Abrego Garcia, it can happen to any of us. This is a constitutional crisis."

Meanwhile, the Trump Administration has conceded that Abrego Garcia was deported in error to El Salvador, however, has shown reluctance in procuring his release from a notorious Salvadoran prison. According to AZ Family, the Supreme Court has directed the U.S. Department of Justice to assist in facilitating Abrego Garcia's return. Notably, Ansari has paid for this trip herself, making clear that taxpayer dollars are not being utilized for this endeavor.

Backlash from the GOP hinges on allegations that Abrego Garcia is associated with the MS-13 gang, allegations made by Trump and various White House officials. Nonetheless, no charges related to gang activity have been filed against him. Democrats, including Ansari, are calling for due process. "Trump’s attack on our Constitution and due process stops now," Ansari declared, aligning her visit with the defense of constitutional rights and asserting her personal resolve, "I refuse to sit back and watch it happen here, too," as noted by AZ Family.

Senator Chris Van Hollen previously met with Abrego Garcia in San Salvador, characterizing the encounter as an apparent Salvadoran government staged event, complete with poolside margaritas, a scene he discussed on NBC's "Meet the Press." Van Hollen accused the Trump administration of "outright defying" court orders, escalating the urgency of the ongoing situation into an international diplomatic matter, as per a report by 12 News.
