In recognition of Earth Day, the Tax Commissioner's Offices, comprising the Tag Office and the Property Tax Office, will take a one-day hiatus today, April 22. This temporary closure is in solidarity with the global movement to acknowledge the significance of environmental protection and sustainability.
According to an announcement on the Athens-Clarke County government website, employees have the day off to participate in Earth Day activities and to encourage the community to reflect on their individual roles in fostering an eco-conscious society. As a result, services commonly available in these offices will be unavailable until normal operations resume tomorrow, April 23.
Citizens requiring services from either the Tag Office or the Property Tax Office should plan their visits accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
