After weeks of investigation following a fatal shooting in southeastern Atlanta, an arrest has been made. Atlanta Police, with support from the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, apprehended 45-year-old Aldrickus Brown in Conyers, Georgia, yesterday. Suspected in the January homicide, Brown faces charges including Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. The Atlanta Police Department reported that he was transported to Fulton County Jail for processing.
The incident that led to Mr. Brown's arrest took place on January 30, when at approximately 11:07 am, Atlanta officers responded to a reported shooting at 1104 Wylie Street SE. Arriving at the scene, law enforcement discovered a male victim inside a vehicle who had sustained a gunshot wound and was sadly pronounced deceased by EMS services, not being alert, conscious, or breathing. The name of the victim has not been released.
Homicide detectives launched an extensive inquiry to unravel the events that culminated in the shooting. Their determined efforts were intent on bringing someone to account for the life cut tragically short behind the wheel on Wylie Street.
