An ongoing investigation is underway after an unidentified woman was found shot dead near an Atlanta cemetery. Police are seeking assistance to identify her and have released new photographs in an appeal to the public.
Atlanta Police responded to a call near Crest Lawn Memorial Park on the evening of Easter Sunday, where a woman was located in a wooded area near Marietta Boulevard NW, as confirmed by 11Alive. Found with multiple gunshot wounds, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Despite the authorities' efforts, no identification was found on her.
With the goal of identifying the victim, police released images of distinct tattoos—a right wrist eye tattoo, a left wrist treble clef and music note, and a bird with a flower on her left thigh. In addition, a photo was shared showing the woman in a store, as she wore a Tommy Hilfiger sweatshirt and black sweatpants, detailed FOX 5 Atlanta. The time and location of the store's image, however, remain undisclosed.
A reward of $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the identity of the deceased. "Anyone with information on this case can submit a tip anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477), online at www.StopCrimeAtl.org, or by texting CSA and the tip to CRIMES (274637)," Atlanta Police Department stated, as residents are urged to come forward with any pertinent information that could assist in the case.
