Atlanta's music scene was recently buzzing with concern for one of its stars, but it sounds like there's no need for alarm. Local rapper Lil Nas X, a native of the metro area, has reported an improvement in his health following a hospitalization for partial face paralysis. The "Old Town Road" singer, real name Montero Lamar Hill, initially posted a video from his hospital bed admitting that he was unable to move the right side of his face. According to FOX5 Atlanta, Lil Nas X didn't disclose the cause of his condition, but said he might "just have to look funny for a little bit."
The details behind the 26-year-old's sudden paralysis were sparse, with various possibilities such as Bell’s palsy, or potentially a side effect from medication. However, in true Lil Nas X fashion, he maintained humor about the predicament. "Guys I am ok! Stop being sad for me!" he posted on his Instagram story, as reported by 11Alive.
But the worries seemed short-lived as the Grammy winner updated fans the following Tuesday, letting them know he was already bouncing back. "Imma be good. Smile getting a lil better," he wrote on Instagram as per 11Alive. His signature blend of humor and resilience showed through as he included a clip of himself roller skating. Despite the initial shock of his health scare, the situation looked much more hopeful with this recent update.
It's no surprise that Lil Nas X’s health scare drew public attention and concern, especially in the wake of pop star Justin Bieber's facial paralysis back in 2022. Bieber had suffered from Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused a similar facial paralysis but fully recovered after a few months. Lil Nas X has not indicated if his condition was similar or related to Ramsay Hunt syndrome. As he continues to recover, fans await the release of his second studio album "Dreamboy," teased in the EP "Days Before Dreamboy," as mentioned on FOX5 Atlanta.
