
Early this morning, Atlanta police were called to 231 18th St. NW in response to a shooting incident that had taken place. According to the Atlanta Police Department, a 26-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound following a verbal altercation turned violent between him and his rideshare driver.
The incident occurred around 2:31 a.m., and upon arrival, the responding Zone 5 officers discovered the victim conscious and breathing. The man was immediately transported to the hospital. The suspect, Robert Wallace, did not manage to evade capture as he was located and detained near the scene by the police.
The preliminary investigation into the shooting suggests that an argument between the victim and his rideshare driver escalated, resulting in Wallace discharging a firearm and striking the victim. Details are still emerging, and the police have indicated that Wallace has been taken into custody with charges pending.
