Commuters take note: major ramp closures are hitting the Andrew and Holt Counties starting tomorrow. In a press release from The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), it has been announced that due to a resurfacing project, some ramps along Interstate 29 will be out of commission for several days at a time beginning today.

The schedule of closures includes the southbound I-29 ramp to and from Route K at Exit 60 and the northbound I-229 to southbound I-29 at Exit 14A starting today; On Tuesday, the northbound I-29 ramp to and from Business 71 at Exit 53 will shut down as part of the ongoing improvements, followed by closures at Exits 14BC and 60 on April 30 and May 1 consecutively, the MoDOT has listed the northbound I-29 ramp to and from U.S. Route 59 at Exit 65 as next on May 3. In Holt County, drivers will face closed ramps at Exit 67 to Route 59 and Route 50 on May 4 and 5.

These disruptions are expected to last from the early morning at 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., compelling drivers to seek alternate paths during these windows. As per MoDOT, the timing of these projects is contingent on suitable weather and could change based on the conditions. The department encourages drivers to plan ahead and stay updated by signing up for work zone updates on their website or by getting in touch via social media or their 24/7 customer service line at 888-ASK-MODOT (275-6636).

With roadway safety in mind, MoDOT urges motorists to always buckle up, keeping your phone down, slowing down and moving over in work zones.
