A tragic event unfolded on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire, where a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Bethlehem man. According to a social media post from the New Hampshire State Police, the accident occurred just south of Exit 40 yesterday at around 6:16 p.m. The report detailed that the 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue had suffered extensive damage, indicative of a rollover crash, and during the preliminary investigation, troopers determined that the driver, for reasons yet to be discerned, left the road and traveled into the median, where the vehicle then rolled multiple times.
The aftermath was grim, as troopers arrived to find the driver ejected from the vehicle and unresponsive. Despite prompt responses from the Littleton Police Department, Littleton Fire Rescue, Bethlehem Fire Department, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation to the scene, the driver was pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as Thomas Oakes, 26, of Bethlehem. In an attempt to fully understand the tragic circumstances, the New Hampshire State Police are reaching out to witnesses and anyone with valuable information to potentially piece together and thoroughly investigate the fatal incident.
Currently, all aspects of the crash are under thorough review, with the full resources of the Troop F barracks dedicated to examining the details. Investigations of this nature typically proceed with methodical precision to uncover the sequence of events that led to such unfortunate outcomes. However, authorities have called upon the public for assistance, hoping that someone may possess critical information that could clarify the causes behind the accident. Trooper Jacob Thomas has been designated as the point of contact for this inquiry and can be reached at (603) 846-3333 or via email at [email protected], as announced through the official communication channels of the NH State Police.
