Drug enforcement efforts in Shelby County led to the arrest of a Birmingham man after deputies found him apparently unconscious in his vehicle, loaded with a variety of illegal narcotics. The Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force took to social media, detailing an arrest that involved a substantial amount of drugs, intercepted from potentially reaching the streets.
According to the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force's Facebook post, in the early hours of April 7, Quincy Brown was found behind a business along the HWY 280 corridor of north Shelby County. The deputies were purportedly conducting proactive patrols when they discovered Brown in his vehicle. Upon making contact, they determined he was under the influence of drugs, which led swiftly to his arrest.
The list of charges against Brown is extensive and includes: Public Intoxication, Trafficking Illegal Drugs (Fentanyl), Possession with Intent to Distribute (Meth), Possession with Intent to Distribute (Cocaine), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Suboxone), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Clonazepam), and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. At the time of reporting, Brown remains in Shelby County Jail, as reported by the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force.
The Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force's post stated, "Due to the hard work of our patrol Deputies, these drugs are off the street and an offender is held accountable for his actions."
