
A suspect has been apprehended in the South End after what can only be described as a chaotic Saturday morning. Bruna Duarte, 44, of Boston, was arrested by officers from District D-4 following a series of alarming acts including property destruction and aggravated assault, according to a release by Boston Police Department.
The incident began around 8:30 a.m. on Harrison Avenue where Duarte reportedly threw rocks at passersby. Following these actions, she allegedly brandished a knife at an individual and subsequently vandalized two vehicles. After fleeing the scene, Duarte was detained by security staff from Pine Street Inn on Paul Sullivan Way before police stepped in.
In the aftermath of the events, Boston police officers recovered a broken glass bottle neck from the suspect’s back left pocket, lending evidence to the violent nature of the incidences. Boston Police Department's statement recorded that Duarte will face various charges, including "Assault with a Dangerous Weapon" and "Two Counts Malicious Destruction of Property Over $1,200.
Duarte is set to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court as the authorities continue their investigations into these the matters.
