Community engagement took a sweet turn in West Roxbury, where the Boston Police Department's District E-5 played host to a group of inquisitive Girl Scouts for an educational visit. On their tour, the scouts dived into a safety presentation and had the chance to comb through the ins and outs of the police station, learning about the day-to-day operations of local law enforcement.
The department's enthusiasm was clear. "We're always proud to connect with the next generation of leaders," the police department shared in a recent update on their website. The officers answered many questions, starting conversations that may help inspire future civic involvement.
It seems the visit was as rewarding for Boston's finest as it was for the scouts. "Officers were glad to spend time with these bright young minds and help teach them more about staying safe and getting involved in their community," said the Boston Police Department. These efforts aim to build better community connections and encourage young people to become leaders and get involved in their neighborhoods.
