The Boston Police Department has issued a missing person alert for 76-year-old William Goss from Brighton. Goss was last seen on Friday around 7:30 a.m. near Western Avenue. He is described as a white male, about 6 feet tall, and was wearing a dark hat, black jacket, blue jeans, and dark sneakers at the time of his disappearance. The BPD notes in their alert that it is uncharacteristic of him to leave the house without his belongings which include his car keys, wallet, and phone, all of which were found left behind at his residence.
There is a growing concern for Goss's well-being and the police are urging the public to come forward with any information that might help in locating him. In an effort to further assist the investigation, the Boston Police Department is encouraging people to not only contact 911 but also to reach out directly to Area D-14 Detectives at 617-343-4256 with any details that they believe could lead to find Goss.
The department is also providing options for those who wish to share information anonymously. This can be done via the CrimeStoppers Tip Line, whether by phone at 1-800-494-TIPS, by text by sending "TIP" to CRIME (27463), or online through the Boston Police CrimeStoppers website. Moreover, community members can submit photos and videos that might be pertinent to the investigation through these channels, with the assurance from the BPD that the identities of those providing tips anonymously are strictly protected.
