The benefits of urban trees are numerous and well-documented; they reduce the heat island effect prevalent in urban settings, cut down on stormwater runoff, improving air quality, are known to enhance both mental and physical health and through strategic placement can lessen traffic noise, bolster property values and even trim energy costs for homeowners, and with meticulous care including the pruning of 298 trees and the watering of 261 trees ensures their growth and health. The Arbor Day Foundation's Tree City USA program, run in partnership with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service, supports towns like Brownsburg in their endeavors, and certifications like these serve as a reminder of the foundational role that trees play in the fabric of our urban landscapes.
