Local first responders are upping their game in emergency preparedness, as the Butler County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Services Unit and Mounted Patrol recently devoted a weekend to brush up on their search and rescue skills. A 20-hour Basic Search and Rescue class, spearheaded by Campbell County Emergency Management, was the proving ground for these individuals, and it wasn't just local deputies who got in on the action; the class saw a coalition of multiple first responder units from various agencies.
There's a commitment to continuous learning and improvement demonstrated by these teams, with the recent training designed to lay a foundational skill set for basic search and rescue operations.
