According to the official update, the ferry resumed its duties on the waterway, reconnecting communities and easing local transportation woes following a period of unexpected downtime due to mechanical issues.
The ferry service in Cameron Parish, which was temporarily out of service, left a gap in daily local activities. The DOTD had previously informed the public about the interruption and, in a statement released yesterday, thanked residents for their patience while repairs were made.
The ferry’s restoration is important for the residents of the coastal parish who rely on it for travel and the transport of goods across the Calcasieu Ship Channel. With repairs completed, the service is now restored.
