Residents and commuters in Casa Grande can expect to see construction crews from Metronet, a provider bringing high-speed fiber internet to the area. Starting Thursday, Metronet will resume laying fiber along selected roadways, with the work projected to last approximately two weeks. According to an announcement by the City of Casa Grande, the construction will impact Arizola Road, Casa Grande Avenue, and McMurray Boulevard, leading to necessary lane shifts and urging motorists to exercise caution.

Those who travel along Arizola Road from south of Florence Boulevard to Cottonwood Lane, Casa Grande Avenue between Melrose Drive and Paseo de Enrique, and McMurray Boulevard from Walnut Drive to Paseo de Paula will need to anticipate these changes and potentially allow for additional travel time. The construction activities are scheduled to take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The city requests that drivers be vigilant and reduce speed in the affected areas to safely accommodate the work crews.

Metronet's installation process will span both aerial and underground methods. Crews are set to utilize existing utility poles in places where utilities already run overhead, while applying advanced horizontal drilling in areas with underground utilities to minimize the impact on the surface. The technology aims to reduce the disruption to the community as the new infrastructure takes shape.

To communicate their presence, all Metronet team members and vehicles will bear the company's logo. The website offers detailed information on the installation process and videos, as well as a contact method for residents to promptly report concerns, such as potential disruptions to underground systems like sprinklers or pet fences. Residents with further questions or issues regarding the installation process are encouraged to use the resources Metronet has made available on their website.
