The City of Casa Grande has officially welcomed Daniel Coxworth as its new Planning and Development Director, with his appointment taking effect on April 9. Coxworth steps into the role following the retirement of Paul Tice, who served the city with distinction for 15 years.
Coxworth brings a wealth of experience to the post, having previously served as the Development Services Director for Cochise County since 2018. In his new role, he will be responsible for steering Casa Grande’s community development strategies—overseeing development proposals, guiding land use applications, ensuring compliance with zoning and building codes, and enforcing city planning policies. His leadership will also extend to managing the Code Enforcement program and contributing to economic development initiatives that shape the city’s urban landscape.
Academically and professionally well-equipped, Coxworth holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and boasts several notable certifications, including American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), and membership in the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
City Manager Larry Rains expressed enthusiasm about the appointment, stating, “We are excited to welcome Daniel to Casa Grande and look forward to his leadership and vision in the Planning and Development Department. His extensive experience and commitment to municipal service make him an excellent fit for this role.”
