In the case regarding the death of Loren Garnet Dudley, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) has made a significant advancement. After a thorough investigation, detectives named Rebecca Oxendine, age 42, as the prime suspect. Arrest warrants were promptly secured for her capture.
As detailed on the CMPD news release, the apprehension of Oxendine occurred on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, by the department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT). She was escorted to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC), where, following an interview with homicide detectives, she was then handed over to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
