The addition of Precinct 6 addresses a critical need for a more concentrated police presence, serving communities tucked away between the geographical boundaries Patrol Precincts 1 and 4 once covered at a distance, data coming from the same county announcement highlighted the precinct sits snuggly next to the Mountain View Aquatic Center off Sandy Plains Road, its doors opening thanks to the $8.2 million budget slice provided by the county's 2016 SPLOST program, backing up District 3 Commissioner JoAnn Birrell's statement, "This is a long-awaited dream coming true."
