A concealed-carry license holder, aged 66, was injured in an early morning shootout in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood on Tuesday, as per police reports. The incident, which took place around 5:51 a.m. on the 1100-block of West Cullerton Street, began when the victim confronted two individuals near a parked vehicle, resulting in a heated verbal altercation, ABC7 Chicago reported.

As tensions escalated one of the suspects produced a firearm leading to an exchange of gunfire during which the licensed individual, a valid FOID and CCL holder, sustained a leg injury and till the hospital they got him in good condition, transported he was to Strpger Hospital, not only that no one else was injured thankfully the suspected shooters fled the scene in a waiting Lexus sedan, and as of now no arrests have been made in connection with this incident. Area Three detectives have taken up the investigation into this matter.

There were no other reported injuries from the shootout, and the suspects remain at large after taking off in a Lexus sedan, as FOX 32 Chicago confirmed. The injured man's condition has been described as "good" by authorities, reinforcing the non-critical nature of the leg wound he received in the confrontation.

At this stage, Chicago police have not made any arrests and the narrative of the event continues with detectives from Area Three actively investigating the circumstances that led up to it, in the shootout Chicago police are looking to the public for tips in apprehending these suspects, if anyone has any information they are encouraged to come forward to assist in the investigation.
