Dan Diaz has been appointed as the new Constable for Maricopa County's McDowell Mountain Justice Precinct, a decision confirmed by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. The precinct, which includes Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, and Northeast Phoenix, is located within Supervisorial Districts 2 and 3. In his role, Diaz will oversee law enforcement duties and the execution of judicial processes in these areas.
"Constables play a pivotal role in our communities and oftentimes put their lives at risk to keep residents safe," stated Chairman Thomas Galvin of District 2 following the county's announcement. While all three candidates brought unique qualifications, Diaz's extensive law enforcement experience stood out. Galvin expressed confidence in Diaz's ability to serve effectively and wished him success as he begins his new role. Diaz's career includes serving as a lieutenant at the Superior Police Department since May 2018, along with experience at the Casa Grande Police Department, offering a broad range of expertise to the position.
Diaz's duties as Constable will include executing and serving processes, warrants, and notices, as well as attending justice courts when necessary. These responsibilities are integral to ensuring the enforcement of judicial directives and the proper functioning of the justice system, as outlined on Maricopa County's website.
