An incident unfolded in Penrose as a 46-year-old man was subjected to a robbery on Thursday, in broad daylight. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the man was in the process of securing his child in his car when he was approached by two assailants demanding his vehicle keys while threatening the presence of a weapon.
The robbery, which occurred just before 2:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of North Kingshighway, saw the father comply with the demands for the sake of his child's safety. The two men, subsequently identified by the police as 38 and 33 years old, took off in the stolen white Ford Eco Sport. The response by the Anti-Crime Task Force (ACTF) was swift , as detectives tracked the stolen vehicle to the area of Steins and Minnesota where they were able to deploy spike strips to halt the getaway.
Following a brief pursuit, the Eco Sport came to a stop, and the suspects were apprehended. Both men are now facing serious charges, specifically, Robbery 1st and Aggravated Fleeing, as confirmed by the Circuit Attorney’s Office. These charges could lead to significant penalties if the accused are found guilty. The names of the suspects remain unreleased by the police.
