In a startling daytime incident, a 23-year-old woman was carjacked at gunpoint in the Debaliviere neighborhood. Officials detailed that the carjacking occurred yesterday, around 4:50 p.m. near the 5500 block of Pershing Avenue, a bustling residential street not known for such brazen acts of crime, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD).
The details paint an unsettling picture: the victim had just pulled up and parked her Audi A4, when she was approached by two male suspects. According to the account she provided to officers, the men brandished handguns and forcefully demanded her keys. The perpetrators then made their escape in her vehicle, leaving the woman shaken but, fortunately, unharmed in the encounter. The SLMPD is still piecing together this puzzle, searching for leads in what remains an active investigation.
Authorities have turned to the public, urging anyone with information to step forward.
