As reported by the Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT), there was a temporary closure on Baker Street NW, starting from Luckie Street NW all the way to Centennial Olympic Park Drive NW; this is to make room for building maintenance activities over at 225 Baker Street NW.
For those planning to scoot around that area, detours will redirect southbound traffic on Centennial Olympic Park Dr NW, looking to turn right onto Baker St NW, down Marietta St NW, then a quick right back onto Baker St NW. Meanwhile, those heading west on Baker St NW will have to loop left onto Centennial Olympic Park Dr NW before hooking a right on Marietta St NW and another right back onto Baker St NW, as detailed by ATLDOT.
Southbound drivers on Luckie St NW intending to turn left onto Baker St NW will instead turn left onto Marietta St NW, then left again onto Ted Turner Dr NW, and another left onto Baker St NW. And for the northbound folks on Park Ave NW itching to go right onto Baker St NW, plan for a detour via right onto Ivan Allen Jr Dr to Centennial Olympic Park Dr NW, then swerve a left onto Baker St NW.
For those traveling east on Baker St NW, the route will direct drivers left onto Luckie St NW, then a sharp right onto Ivan Allen Jr Dr, followed by another right onto Centennial Olympic Park Dr NW before finally turning left back onto Baker St. Traffic control won’t be left to chance, as enforcement officers are scheduled to be onsite to help manage traffic flow, bringing some order to the detour.
Be advised, pedestrians: the sidewalks along Baker Street NW are off-limits during this scheduled closure.
