The Miami beachfront is about to get a splash of Mediterranean luxury with the slated May opening of the Donatella Boutique Hotel and Restaurant, nestled snugly alongside the iconic former Versace Mansion. According to Eater Miami, the collaboration between Nakash Group and Vida & Estilo Hospitality Group is poised to be an oasis of Neo-Mediterranean elegance and world-class Italian cuisine, confirming Miami as a hub for luxury hospitality. The development aims to transport its guests straight to a sun-drenched Italian beach club, stepping away from the urban surrounds of Miami Beach.
The location at 1350 Collins Avenue is a stone's throw from Villa Casa Casuarina, where the Versace Mansion stands restored. A Mediterranean feel is woven throughout, leveraging on natural textures and colors paired with gold touches and strategic greenery. Thinking of coastal Italy while sitting in Miami, the menu comes curtesy of Chef Alessandro Morrone, featuring authentic dishes like rigatoni nduja and linguini alla vongole. Spearheaded by Nakash Group, owners of the adjacent Villa Casa Casuarina, and collaborative partner Vida & Estilo, the goal has always been to capture Miami's spirit in a unique way with every property venture, as Boutique Hotelier USA reports, quoting Joe Nakash, the chairman of Nakash Group.
Time Out also reveals that the boutique hotel will host Donatella Restaurant, under the stewardship of Chef Morrone. In a statement obtained by Eater Miami, Jamil Dib, the co-founder and owner of Vida & Estilo, expressed a dedication to quality and affordability, saying, “We spent a year picking out these products,” but emphasized the intention to be "fair with the customers and the community to pay a fair price for the most amazing products." Dib holds that dining indulgence should not be exclusively tied to a premium price tag, setting Donatella apart from other high-end establishments, as mentioned by Eater Miami.
Morrone's menu draws inspiration from his Napoleonic upbringing, offering an array of sophisticated yet familiar Italian selections, as reported by Eater Miami. Vida & Estilio's team went all the way to Italy, sourcing ingredients such as olive oil and mozzarella to ensure authentic flavors. The restaurant will seat guests amid an ambiance of timeless Mediterranean charm, with the design accentuating the natural textures and a spark with gold accents and a glittering chandelier. As the city buzzes with anticipation, prospective guests can get a sneak peek at the Donatella space on Eater Miami's site before doors open next month.
