Jose Quinones, a 23-year-old man, has been arrested on charges of sending sexually explicit material to a minor via Snapchat. Arrested last week in Douglas, Quinones is currently being detained at the Danny Elbert Detention Center in Johnson County, following the collaboration of the local Sheriff's Office with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, FOX 5 Atlanta reports.

Initiated in December 2024 when an investigative lead was submitted, the probe led by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office determined that between November and December 2024, Quinones had contacted a 13-year-old girl via the social media app; and sent explicit photos and videos, and also solicited such content from the minor, his arrest was the result of a months-long investigation to gather sufficient evidence.

Quinones currently faces two felony charges: one count of electronically furnishing obscene material to a minor and one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes, according to WSB-TV. The investigation into this matter is still underway, with authorities urging anyone with further relevant information to step forward.

“I hope this arrest sends a loud and clear message: the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has a ZERO-tolerance policy for exploitation of children. We will continue to work diligently to stop these predators. Johnson County is a great community and we will work relentlessly to ensure that it remains a safe place for our children,” Sheriff Greg Rowland expressed his department's stance on such serious offenses, as reduced to words by WSB-TV.
