An early morning blaze at a Cobb County apartment complex led to the displacement of numerous residents on Tuesday. As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, the fire started at the Vinings View apartments on Pines Court just before the hour struck 4:30 a.m. Firefighters rushed to the site, encountering flames erupting from the building's backside and extending into the attic.
According to the account of events depicted by Cobb County Fire Lt. Steve Bennett, the brigade initiated a combative endeavor against the fire and an exhaustive search of the apartments to verify if any occupants remained trapped. Bennett shared in an interview with FOX 5 that remarkably there were no sorrowful reports of severe injuries to residents or firefighters, notwithstanding one individual who may have been slightly harmed while jumping from their balcony to escape the smoke and flames.
Talking to Atlanta News First, the fire department indicated that the conflagration was brought under control around 4:50 a.m. after a swift and efficient response from around 10 units on the scene. Resident Tammy Bostick recounted to FOX 5 Atlanta, noticing a "bright light" as the day was starting to emerge for her. It was only after receiving a text message from a neighbor that the reality of their complex engulfed by fire dawned on her. "I walk out here, and I see the whole fire department of Cobb County out here," Bostick described. According to the fire department's investigation, six units sustained damage due to smoke and water, while three directly suffered from the fire's wrath.
