Maintenance work is set to take a bite out of your commute next Monday if you're traveling eastbound on US 90 through St. Mary Parish. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that the outside lane between LA 3211 and LA 3215 will be closed from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on April 21, provided that Mother Nature doesn't decide to rain on the parade.
Got a heavy haul? Plan ahead—crews will be out doing routine bridge maintenance, so oversized loads over 16 feet won't get through. Regular traffic can still pass with a one-lane restriction. It might be a hassle, but it's all about keeping the bridge safe and in good shape.
Speaking of safety, the DOTD reminds drivers to be careful in the work zone—slow down, watch for workers, and stay alert. It’s not just about avoiding a ticket, but keeping everyone safe. Emergency vehicles will still be able to get through, so local services won’t be affected by the lane closure.
