Last weekend, three officers from the Eden Prairie Police Department joined forces with the Bloomington Police Department to form the BPD EPPD team, all for the annual "Ballin in DC" charity basketball tournament. The event aimed to raise funds for MN COPS, or Concerns of Police Survivors. According to the report from the City of Eden Prairie, the event netted just over a grand slam of $35,000.
MN COPS is dedicated to an incredibly important mission. They provide vital resources to help the families of law enforcement officers who've paid the ultimate price in the line of duty. It's about rebuilding lives, and these officers showed that support comes not only from the badge they wear, but from the bonds they build. The Eden Prairie Crime Prevention Fund made a notable contribution to the cause, and it's a success in terms of community support for the families that continue to deal with the aftermath of their tragedies.
