Eden Prairie parents will get a helping hand with ensuring their little ones' safety on the road this April. The Eden Prairie Police Department (EPPD) is hosting a Spring Car Seat Clinic that promises to demystify the oft-confusing process of car seat installation. According to a bulletin on the City of Eden Prairie's website, a staggering "three out of four child seats are used incorrectly" in Minnesota.

On April 19, from 9 a.m. to noon, Eden Prairie Fire Station #1 will transform into a hub where certified car seat technicians stand ready to check car seats for proper installation. The service is free of charge and operates on a first come, first served basis. The organizers stress the convenience of this clinic, noting no appointment is necessary. Yet they remind participants to bring their car seat, manual, and child to the event for a thorough assessment.

In a practical move that acknowledges the busy schedules of today's families, individuals unable to attend the clinic are encouraged to schedule a personal appointment. By calling 952-949-6200, one can arrange an appointment with a certified technician.

The event takes place at 14800 Scenic Heights Road, acting as a pillar for community safety education. Terrain the EPPD Blog for regular updates and more information on safety initiatives in Eden Prairie.
