El Paso Police Department and Crime Stoppers of El Paso are seeking the public's assistance in locating a man who has allegedly evaded police multiple times and even attempted to use his vehicle as a weapon against an officer. The information about the ongoing search was shared in a recent initiative to intensify efforts to identify the suspect in question, as highlighted in this week’s "Crime of the Week," as detailed by KTSM.
The pattern of evasion began last year and spans over three separate incidents involving the same individual. In the most recent encounter on March 22, an officer attempted to stop the suspect for a traffic violation on the 4100 block of Rich Beam Boulevard. The suspect, driving a vehicle distinctively identified by its Texas Registration sticker and New Mexico License Plates, chose flight once more, endangering law enforcement in the process, as reported by KFOX-TV.
This series of confrontations between the suspect and law enforcement escalated on March 28 when officers located the same suspect in Central El Paso, on the 400 block of Tays Street. Aware of his previous attempts to evade capture, officers moved to detain him. However, this time the suspect's evasion included a more alarming maneuver, driving into the landscape and directly towards an officer, according to KVIA.
