Residents of El Paso County have reason to gather together this coming week for an occasion that beckons the spirit of community and the joy of spring. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office Deputy Peter J. Herrera Station, together with the offices of Constable Javier Garcia and Commissioner Iliana Holguin, are hosting the 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Veterans Park in Fabens. Noting the upcoming festivities, Sheriff Oscar Ugarte took to social media to invite the community to partake in an event filled with tradition and family-friendly activities.
The Easter Egg Hunt, slated for April 12, 2025, promises a morning brimming with activities from 10 AM to 12 PM. Alongside the search for colorful eggs, attendees can expect free food, games, and Easter baskets, "while supplies last," according to El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte. Among the games and the laughter of children, families will gather, forging memories that stand in tender contrast to the often harsh landscape of the world beyond the park's borders.
For those new to the annual event or revisiting with their own growing families, the location is Veterans Park, situated at 602 N.E. 4th St, Fabens, TX 79838. Sheriff Ugarte expressed his anticipation laden with excitement, "We can’t wait to see you there!" While the event is rooted in the celebration of Easter, its broader implication is the stitching together of community fabric, as local officers and officials unite with the public in a tableau of suburban harmony and cheer.
With last year's hunt having seen a robust turnout, expectations for this year are high as organizers plan to accommodate an enthusiastic crowd. Adding to the ambiance will be the scent of burgers on the grill, and the smiles of children, clutching baskets and awaiting the commencement of the hunt, a scene redolent of simpler times. All families across El Paso County are warmly welcomed to attend and are encouraged to come early to enjoy the free amenities on offer. One can only hope the weather holds up to match the spirit of the attendees, looking for the sunshine to mirror the brightness of a community coming together.
