The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has issued an appeal to the public to assist in the search for 41-year-old Rueben Matthews, who has been missing since December 14, 2024. Matthews reportedly left his home on McGrew Circle on foot after an argument stemming from a relationship breakdown and has not established any contact since his departure.
Authorities describe Rueben Matthews as a black male, with a height of 5 feet 8 inches, weighing 160 pounds, and having black hair with brown eyes. Despite a history of sporadically losing contact with his family, usually spanning one to two months, the Sheriff's Office has noted that the duration of Matthews' current absence is particularly concerning and out of character. The community is urged to come together to actively help locate the missing individual.
As obtained by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, they provided a detailed physical description of Mr. Matthews and attached a photograph to aid in his identification. This dissemination of information is vital as it allows the public to be vigilant and potentially provide crucial tips to law enforcement.
