The El Paso Independent School District recently highlighted the dedication and professional excellence of its educators and support staff by announcing the winners for the 2024-25 Teacher of the Year and Education Support Personnel of the Year awards. According to El Paso ISD, the selection process was a collaborative effort involving teacher, staff, and student input at the campus level, which is not only a nod to the winners' profound influence in the classroom but also to the broader school community.
Superintendent Diana Sayavedra lauded the individuals who are finalists for these awards, saying, "This honor holds great significance as it reflects the admiration and appreciation of colleagues, students, and families," as per El Paso ISD. Despite the recognition being awarded to educators and personnel, it appears students played a pivotal role in the nomination process, a fact that Sayavedra embraced, affirming that these professionals "embody the spirit of our district."
In a celebratory gathering slated for Thursday, May 22, the district will honor these winners. Each of the educators and staff members, from Aoy Elementary's Carol Yesenia Estrada-Carrera to Young Women's STEAM Academy's Laura Pacheco, will be acknowledged for their relentless commitment to shaping the future through their daily interactions and lessons imparted to students.
El Paso ISD extended its pool of gratitude by praising all campus winners for their relentless dedication to education, emphasizing their role in inspiring excellence every day. According to El Paso ISD, the impact of these individuals is not confined to the four walls of the classroom, but resonates across the entire community, touching the lives of students and setting a standard of positivity and guidance.
