
An El Paso man, 30-year-old Alex Montoya, was apprehended on Saturday, following the execution of multiple felony warrants against him. According to El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte, Montoya was taken into custody at his home located in the 14300 block of High Rock Drive.
Montoya's growing list of criminal charges includes theft of property with varied values, ranging from as low as $2,500 to as much as $150,000, abandoning or endangering a child, evading arrest with a vehicle, forgery, and tampering with government records. He now faces a total of thirteen outstanding felony warrants and was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with no bond option provided.
The sheriff's office reiterated its commitment to community safety and the assurance that fugitives will meet justice. In an effort to uncover more potential offenses, they have called on individuals who believe they might have fallen victim to similar crimes involving Montoya to step forward.
