El Paso police have apprehended three individuals following a series of shootings on the city's west side. According to the El Paso Police Department, the first incident occurred around 3:29 pm on Thursday, when shots were fired at a residence on the 200 block of Hillview. The suspects then fled the scene in a blue vehicle.
The investigation escalated when, at approximately 4:15 pm the same day, another shots-fired call was reported. Police tied both incidents to a blue Honda Ridgeline. An officer located the suspected vehicle on the 300 block of St. Vrain not long after. Authorities disclosed that a 16-year-old male, identified only due to his age, along with individuals named Yarde and Morales, were implicated in the shooting spree. Remarkably, despite the chaos and harm inflicted on the community, no injuries have been reported.
Local law enforcement has confirmed that the juvenile involved in the case has been referred to the Juvenile Probation Department. Conversely, Yarde and Morales are facing a more direct consequence for their alleged actions, having been booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. The events leading to the arrest highlight ongoing concerns regarding gun violence and the need for effective community and police response to such threats.
