The El Paso Police Department is intensifying its efforts to locate a man who may hold critical information about a severe hit-and-run incident that occurred on the 12th of April in Central El Paso. A motorcyclist was left in critical condition following the event. The Special Traffic Investigations Unit issued an appeal to the community to aid in the identification of this individual, as reported by KTSM.
In a separate yet intricately linked incident, an unidentified Chevrolet driver who was driving with the headlights off is sought after colliding with a scooter in the Five Points area. The collision occurred as the scooter rider was turning, resulting in the rider being ejected from the vehicle and sustaining critical injuries. The Chevrolet, last seen escaping north on Piedras Street, has been described as having significant damage to its front, according to the El Paso Times.
Added to this, the Special Traffic Investigations Unit obtained a photograph of the aforementioned four-door Chevrolet car, which they have since disseminated in the hope of gathering further informational leads from the public. The dark-colored sedan, which impacted a scooter while traveling northbound on Piedras, also faces identification issues from the authorities. Details surrounding this vehicle and the accident have been made public in an attempt to solicit help from witnesses or anyone with knowledge of the incident.
Following the collision, the scooter's rider, who was operating a Taotao, required immediate medical attention and was transported to the hospital bearing serious injuries, as KFOX-TV reported. The officials are urging the public to come forward with any potentially beneficial information, emphasizing the distinct damage that should be noticeable on the front of the Chevrolet sedan due to the collision's intensity.
