The Elizabethton Police Department added two new officers to their force last Friday. Officer Frankie Morris of Elizabethton and Officer Jonah Buchanan from Bristol took the oath of service in a ceremony at City Hall, with City Clerk Preston Cobb presiding.
In the City Council Chambers, typically used for legislative discussions and civic matters, the new officers took their oath to uphold the law. The City of Elizabethton reported the event, noting the attendance of Elizabethton Police Chief Jason Shaw, who welcomed the officers to the department.
Chief Shaw spoke about the importance of the ceremony and the role these officers will play, highlighting their contribution to the community. "As always, was pleased to welcome the two new officers to the department,” Shaw conveyed, as cited by the city's press release.
