Heads up to all drivers hitting the road near Seven Mile tomorrow: expect some slowdown. According to a bulletin from the Ohio Department of Transportation, signal work is scheduled to take place at the intersection of state routes 73 and 503, which means lane closures will be in effect.
The work is scheduled to begin bright and early, around 8:30 a.m., and is expected to wrap up by the afternoon. Specifically, crews are out to replace the poles for the overhead flashing signals on S.R. 73, necessitating lane restrictions on that route. They're saying it's a flagging operation, so be prepared for stop-and-go traffic while you pass through the zone.
The official announcement notes that the S.R. 503 could also see some restrictions at the same time. So, if you have places to be today, you'll want to budget some extra time for travel, or perhaps even plan a detour.
And, as always, safety's a big deal. The ODOT is urging motorists to keep alert, pump the brakes on their speed, and watch out for stopped traffic ahead. The workers out there are just trying to do their job and get home safe, just like everyone else on the road. So let's make sure we all play it friendly and easy through the work zones.
