Motorists planning to travel along LA 633 (Magnolia Ridge Rd) in St. Charles Parish should expect possible delays starting tomorrow. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced asphalt milling and overlay operations, including soil placement, will result in alternating lane closures along a section of the route. Officials have stated that the work is expected to be completed by Friday, weather permitting.
The alternating lane closures will affect both southbound and northbound directions of LA 633, spanning from US 90 to Maple St. According to state transportation officials, these closures are necessary for road maintenance and are expected to occur daily from the start date until completion, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Travelers should be prepared for partial closures of both the left and right lanes and plan their commutes accordingly.
Residents and commuters who frequently use LA 633 are advised to stay informed on traffic updates and detours, as electronic message boards and traffic control devices will be in place to guide drivers through the construction zone. For alternative routes, updates on detours and traffic conditions can be found on the DOTD's website. Local businesses are preparing for potential impacts, and while delays are expected, staying updated on real-time traffic alerts will help minimize disruptions during the project.
