On last Saturday, Joseph Petito, father of Gabby Petito, and David Robinson II, father of missing geologist Daniel Robinson, joined forces in the search for Daniel, who has been missing since June 2021. They coordinated the search with the help of about 50 volunteers, the Buckeye Police Department, and the Arizona Rangers, who were focusing on areas based on new information. David Robinson II said, "I'm his father, so I'm gonna be here always to make sure that I'm continuing to fight and advocating for him and find the justice that he deserves," according to FOX 10 Phoenix.
The families' coalition reflects the connection between two men, both part of a group no parent ever expects to join. "It's inspirational, the amount of energy it takes to do what he does with the heartache and the unknowing that goes on every day," Joseph Petito said in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix.
An update in the investigation into Daniel Robinson's disappearance shows that the Robinson family has handed over Daniel's possessions to local authorities for forensic testing. David Robinson stated, "So, we did a custody change yesterday. They took possession of everything and they're doing a full workup to see if we can come up with new leads in Daniel’s case." The Petito family is also involved in the search, with Joseph Petito saying, "When it comes to Daniel’s story – Emily Pike, Chelsea Grimm. There’s a lot of stories out here. The MMIW, the MMIP, there’s so much when it comes to missing people we can do, and that’s why we’ve been out here," as mentioned by AZFamily.
