An incident on Interstate 4 earlier yesterday has left the Florida Highway Patrol searching for a motorcyclist accused of opening fire on another driver's car. According to FOX 13 News, a man from St. Pete who was filming a group of erratic motorcyclists found himself the target when one of the riders purportedly shot at his vehicle.
The driver's video, which he provided to the authorities, shows one of the motorcyclists riding up next to his car before allegedly firing multiple gunshots. Although the car was hit several times, the man was fortunate enough to not suffer any injuries from the encounter. The Florida Highway Patrol described the suspected shooter as a "white male with a medium build and wearing a jacket with an 'Outlaws MC' logo," as reported by WTSP. They are actively seeking to swiftly apprehend the individual responsible for the shooting.
The 'Outlaws MC' insignia discerned on the jacket might suggest an affiliation with a motorcycle club, which could potentially aid investigators in their search for leads. The event has raised questions regarding the safety of Florida's highways, with motorists expressing concern over the randomness and potential rise of such attacks. No arrests have yet been made in the case.
"Multiple rounds hit the Honda, but the victim was not injured," ABC Action News further confirmed, underscoring the severity of the shooting and the luck that the driver managed to escape unharmed. An investigation is ongoing as law enforcement officials appeal to the public for any information that could lead to identify and locate the motorcyclist involved in this dangerous incident on one of Florida's busiest interstates.
