
This morning, the Fremont Fire Department battled a severe apartment fire at the Waterstone Apartments. According to a social media post by the Fremont Fire Department, the fire broke out at approximately 2:53 AM at 3939 Bidwell Dr. in Building 25. First responding units encountered "heavy fire conditions venting from a 4th floor apartment unit," and multiple individuals were trapped, facing a life-threatening situation.
Amid the chaos, two residents decided to jump from the balcony to evade the encroaching flames. The fire team, arriving within minutes of the call, launched into action, focusing on rescues and controlling the blaze. By 3:40 AM, the responders, which included 31 personnel and a variety of equipment, had successfully brought the incident under control.
The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, carried out jointly by the Fremont Fire Department's investigators and the Fremont Police Department. While the firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and assist the victims, Falck Ambulance, PG&E Gas/Electric, and Fremont Fire Department's Rehab Team provided additional support.
